Darren Chen

Darren Chen is a seasoned hardware engineer with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and project management, currently working at Waymo since January 2017. Prior positions include a mechanical engineering internship at Google, engineering director for the Stanford Solar Car Project, and internships at Tesla Motors and Boeing, where Darren developed innovative solutions in power electronics and manufacturing engineering. Chen's early career features roles in research and development, including a notable internship at the Army High Performance Computing Research Center. An alumnus of Stanford University, Darren holds both a Master's degree and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, complemented by a distinguished academic record, having been valedictorian at Whitney High School.
