Shahab Kaynama

Shahab Kaynama is an accomplished technical lead and manager with extensive experience in motion planning for autonomous vehicles at Waymo since May 2021. Prior to this role, Shahab served as a technical lead manager in the Special Projects Group at Apple, focusing on planning and autonomous systems from August 2017 to May 2021. Shahab's expertise includes leading teams and projects at Clearpath Inc., where significant contributions were made to the planning and controls stack for major product launches. Academic credentials include a postdoctoral degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The University of British Columbia, and an MSc in Advanced Control and Systems Engineering from The University of Manchester.
