Michael Belzer

Michael Belzer is a renowned academic and industry expert specializing in transportation issues, with a focus on the trucking industry's labor relations, occupational safety, and regulatory aspects. Currently serving as a Professor at Wayne State University since 2000, Michael has also been the President of Sound Science, Inc. since 2004, providing consultancy on transportation-related labor and economic matters. As President of the Great Lakes Gateway since 2011, Michael is instrumental in developing southeast Michigan into an intermodal freight hub. Previously, Michael held research and teaching positions at prestigious institutions including the University of Michigan and Cornell University, where foundational research on motor carrier safety was conducted.
