Christopher Canning

Christopher Canning has a diverse work experience in the fields of mental health and academia. Christopher is currently the Director of Research & Academics at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. Prior to this, they served as an Adjunct Lecturer at the University of Toronto. Christopher also worked as a Research Associate at Wisdom2Action and held the position of Vice President of Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization at the Centre of Excellence on PTSD. Christopher also has experience working at the Mental Health Commission of Canada, where they held various roles such as Director of Programs & Priorities, Manager of Policy and Research, Manager of Knowledge Exchange, Senior Knowledge Exchange Specialist, and Policy and Research Analyst. Additionally, they served as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at McGill University and held teaching positions as a Course Instructor at Dawson College, Vanier College, and Queen's University.

Christopher Canning holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Sociology from Queen's University, which they obtained from 2005 to 2010. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Sociology at Queen's University from 2002 to 2004. Christopher began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Sociology from The University of Lethbridge between 1997 and 2001.
