Demetrios Kalantzis

Demetrios Kalantzis joined the Waypoint senior leadership team in October 2020.

Demetrios most recently worked at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) as Executive Director, Healthcare, Recovery and Return-to-Work Integration, where he led the Health Services Division and was accountable for the optimization of WSIB’s clinical services and nurse consultant programs. Prior to this, he was Executive Director, Human Resources at WSIB, providing strategic leadership in human resources business services, labour/employee relations, talent management and health, safety and wellness.

Demetrios is an outcome-focused and values-based leader with 20+ years of progressive human resources leadership experience across multiple Ontario hospitals. He is a strong transformational leader and negotiator, who focuses on collaboration, relationship building and change management.

Demetrios has a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at Western University, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts, Industrial Relations and Sociology from the University of Toronto. In addition, he has a Certificate from Queen’s University in Workplace Mental Health Leadership, is a member of the Human Resources Professional Association, and is certified as a Human Resources Leader and Human Resources Professional.
