Gurmeet Singh Saran

Gurmeet Singh Saran has over 17 years of work experience in the field of software engineering and data management. Gurmeet is currently employed at Wealthfront as a Principal Software Engineer since June 2021. Prior to that, Gurmeet worked at Meta from 2016 to 2021 as a Lead Software Engineer, where they led a team in building data infra management products for engineers, data scientists, and analysts at Facebook scale. During this time, they also designed and implemented a metric platform, Metric360, for the company. Before joining Meta, Gurmeet worked at Intuit from 2010 to 2016 as a Staff Engineer, where they developed a company-wide analytical data platform called IAC (Intuit Analytical Cloud) using BigData and AWS Cloud Technology. Gurmeet integrated various types of data to enable rapid experimentation, predictive modeling, and cross-product analysis. Prior to Intuit, Gurmeet worked at Yahoo! R&D from 2007 to 2010 as a Technical Lead, responsible for delivering web analytics and business intelligence reporting solutions for all Yahoo! properties. Gurmeet migrated the data processing pipeline to MapReduce to reduce latency in processing petabytes scale data. Gurmeet also has experience working at Oracle as a Member Technical Staff from 2006 to 2007, and at Cognizant Technology Solutions as a Programmer Analyst from 2004 to 2006.

From 2000 to 2004, they studied Electronics and Tele-Communication at the University of Kalyani, where they obtained a B.Tech degree.

Later, from 2008 to 2010, they pursued further education in Computer Software Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, obtaining a Master's degree in the field.
