Madeleine Shin has a strong background in media relations and strategic communications. Madeleine began their career in politics, working as a Press Secretary for the U.S. House of Representatives. After that, they worked as a Communications Specialist for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and as a Senior Consultant for Strategic Communications at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. In 2014, they joined TogoRun as a Vice President, where they led accounts for Ethicon Biosurgery and Lilly Oncology. In 2016, they moved to Weber Shandwick, starting as a Vice President in the Media Relations department. During their time there, they took on various leadership roles, including being the Chicago Health Media Practice Lead and the North American Health Media Practice Lead. Madeleine provided media counsel and support to clients such as Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Sanofi Genzyme, and Regeneron. Their specialties include oncology, cardiology, ophthalmology, diagnostics, and consumer health.
Madeleine Shin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Politics / Philosophy, which they obtained with Cum Laude honors from the University of Maryland. Madeleine graduated early from their program. In addition to their degree, Madeleine also holds a certification in Professional, Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM®), which they obtained from America's Health Insurance Plans in June 2014.
