Athanasios Vitsas has worked for a number of companies since 2007. From 2007 to 2010, they worked as a Technical Support Specialist for the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation. In 2012, they completed a research internship at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), where they investigated state-of-the-art methods for the resuspension of multi-layer deposited solid particles. From 2013 to 2017, they worked as a Researcher at KU Leuven, where they investigated the effect of atmospheric boundary layer and turbulent wakes of large wind farms on wind turbines structural loads. In 2017, they worked as a Visiting Researcher at DTU Wind Energy. From 2019 to 2022, they worked as an Associate and CFD Engineer at Foster + Partners. Currently, they are working as a Machine Learning Support Engineer for Weights & Biases.
Athanasios Vitsas holds a Master of Science in Computational Mechanics from the National Technical University of Athens, which they obtained between 2011 and 2013. Before that, they completed a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the same university between 2005 and 2011. Additionally, they hold a Deep Learning certification from deeplearning.ai, which they obtained in October 2020, as well as an Autodesk Inventor Certification from Autodesk, which they obtained in 2008.
