Shafqat Islam

Shafqat Islam has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Shafqat currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer at Optimizely, where they are responsible for overseeing the marketing and SDR teams, as well as the Welcome business. Prior to this, in 2020, Islam was the Chief Executive Officer of Welcome, a marketing orchestration platform used by major brands. Before that, they co-founded and served as the CEO of NewsCred, a leading enterprise content marketing company whose content services were later acquired by Industry Dive. Additionally, Islam has held roles at The Paley Center for Media as a Media Council Member and Next Big Thing Advisory Board member, and at Merrill Lynch Bank Suisse SA as a Vice President, where they were a part of the Technology Management Team and played a key role in the UK Platform Project.

Shafqat Islam attended the University of Pennsylvania from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a BSE in Computer Engineering and a BA in Economics.
