Wellan Montessori School
Laura Smitherman is an experienced educator currently serving as an Elementary Support Teacher at Wellan Montessori School since September 2020. Prior roles include Chemistry Teacher at J.P. Stevens High School and Summer School Chemistry Teacher at The Hun School of Princeton. Laura also gained valuable experience as a Ministry Intern at Princeton Christian Fellowship, a Teaching and Resident Life Intern at The Hun School of Princeton, and a Teaching Fellow at Breakthrough New York. Additionally, Laura worked as an Undergraduate Researcher in Chemistry at Princeton University. Laura holds a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Princeton University, where enrollment took place from 2013 to 2017. Earlier education was completed at Hopkins School from 2009 to 2013.

Wellan Montessori School (formerly Newton Montessori School) is an independent, coeducational school serving more than 175 families and 250 children ages 15 months through grade 8. Wellan Montessori accepts children age 15 months through 8th grade.
