Vitalii Kleshchevnikov is a bioinformatician at the Wellcome Sanger Institute since February 2018, focusing on AI/ML models related to cell type identity, gene regulation, and cell communication. Vitalii has developed a deep mechanistic model known as Cell2state and recently published cell2location for spatial mapping of cell types. Prior experience includes roles at the European Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR, and the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, where Vitalii acquired extensive technical skills in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and statistical analysis. Vitalii earned a PhD in Genome Sciences from the University of Cambridge and holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
