Natsuko Imai

Natsuko Imai is a highly experienced researcher in the field of infectious disease epidemiology, currently serving as a Senior Research Manager for Disease Tracking at Wellcome Trust since September 2022. Natsuko has held an honorary position as a Senior Research Fellow and WHO Liaison at the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis since October 2016, and previously worked as a WHO Liaison and Research Associate at the MRC Centre for Outbreak Analysis and Modelling from October 2012 to September 2022. Additional roles include serving as an Expert Science Cell Adviser at the Government Office for Science and various research assistant positions focused on molecular epidemiology and parasite immunoepidemiology. Natsuko's educational background includes a PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from Imperial College London, an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a BSc in Biological Sciences from the University of Edinburgh.
