Michael Wagner

Chief Physician Executive at Tufts Medicine

Michael Wagner is the current Chief Physician Executive at Wellforce. Prior to this, they were the Chief Executive Officer of EmCare Inpatient Services, a national hospitalist practice management company located in Dallas, Texas.

At EmCare, Wagner was responsible for the growth of the division from 15 to 60 programs over a four-year period. Michael expanded practices into 16 states and employed 385 physicians. The company was recognized as one of the largest national hospitalist management companies.

Wagner also participated in the founding of the Phoenix Group, which served as a hospitalist think tank comprised of regional and national hospitalist practice management groups. Michael participated in bi-annual meetings from September 2007 to December 2010.

As CEO, Wagner also maintained a clinical practice and local practice leadership at several of EmCare's client programs, including Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA; Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY; St. Luke's Hospital in Utica, NY; and Hallmark Health Care in Medford and Melrose, MA.

Dr. Michael Wagner is a medical doctor who graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Michael then pursued a career in internal medicine and completed their residency at Dartmouth Medical School. Prior to medical school, they obtained their undergraduate degree in botany from Connecticut College. Michael is also certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine.
