Don Kappel has extensive experience in compensation and HRIS roles. Don is currently working as the SVP Total Rewards & HRIS at Wellpath, overseeing the Total Rewards team and leading a team of 17 analysts and managers. Prior to that, they were the VP, Compensation & HRIS at Wellpath, where they led the Compensation program and designed a new compensation philosophy and pay structure. Before joining Wellpath, Don worked at Cracker Barrel as the Senior Director, Compensation and Careers, and Director of Compensation, where they managed all aspects of the compensation programs and led a team that supported talent acquisition and retention efforts. Don also held compensation and payroll roles at Tractor Supply Company, where they managed analysis, recommendations, and support for HR Business Partners and Department Managers. Earlier in their career, Don held positions at Brookdale Senior Living, where they led the company-wide compensation function and developed acquisition integration and strategic project management processes. Don also worked at Fiserv in various roles in benefits, compensation, and projects, focusing on process improvement and operational efficiencies. Don began their career at Best Buy as an Inventory Supervisor.
Don Kappel attended Greenfield High School but the dates of attendance are unknown. Don later obtained a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management and Services from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, attending from 1990 to 1995. Don furthered their education by earning an MBA in Human Resources Management and Services from the same institution from 2000 to 2005.
