Johanna Maass

Johanna Maass is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in climate resilience and project coordination across West and Central Africa and the Caribbean. Currently serving as the Regional Climate Resilience Advisor at Welthungerhilfe, Johanna has been instrumental in managing the "Communautés Caribéennes Résilientes" project, focusing on ecosystem-based adaptation and forest restoration in vulnerable rural communities in Haiti, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic. Previous roles include expertise in monitoring and evaluation, and programme support with organizations such as the United Nations OCHA and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, where contributions spanned disaster management, climate change mitigation, and partnership development. Johanna holds a Master of Science in Geographies of Environmental Risks and Human Security from the United Nations University and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography from Queen Mary University of London.
