Maura T.

Maura T. has a diverse work experience starting from 2008. Maura began their career as an Office Manager at Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts, followed by similar roles at BLAZEK & VETTERLING and FONTANELLO, DUFFIELD & OTAKE, LLP. From 2012 to 2014, Maura worked as the Manager of Office Operations at Waypoint Wealth Partners. In 2016, they took on the role of Clinical Intern at ACCHS Student Clinic, where they worked until 2018. In 2019, Maura founded their own acupuncture practice, Sliding Scale Acupuncture, and served as an Acupuncturist and Founder. Maura then transitioned to Alameda Community Acupuncture in 2020, working as a Clinic Manager.

Maura's interest in programming led their to pursue a Software Engineering Fellowship at Hackbright Academy from April to July 2021. During the immersive 12-week program, they gained expertise in computer science principles, front-end and back-end web development, databases, tools, and software engineering best practices.

After completing the fellowship, Maura continued their involvement with Hackbright Academy as a Python Software Engineering Teaching Assistant. Maura delivered lectures, conducted weekly reviews of course material, mentored students, and helped them with technical questions and debugging.

Most recently, Maura joined WePay in February 2022 as a Software Engineering Apprentice. As of September 2022, they hold the position of Software Engineer.

Maura T.'s education history begins in 2003 when they attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Maura pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree with a field of study in Studio Art, completing their studies in 2006.

After some time, Maura decided to explore a different field and in 2015, they enrolled at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences. Maura dedicated four years to studying Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chinese Herbology, earning their Master of Science (MS) degree in 2019.

In 2021, Maura attended Hackbright Academy, where they focused on Full Stack Software Development without pursuing a specific degree. Here, they gained extensive knowledge in this field.

Furthermore, Maura enhanced their skill set by obtaining additional certifications. In April 2022, they received the "Linux Tools for Developers" certification from The Linux Foundation. Prior to this, in March 2022, they obtained the "Using Git for Distributed Development" certification, also from The Linux Foundation.
