Susana Ruiz

Susana Ruiz is an experienced underwriter currently employed at West P&I since February 2024, following a decade of progressive roles at The Shipowners' Club, where responsibilities included studying insurance proposals, reviewing shipping contracts in multiple languages, assessing risks, and calculating premiums. Prior experience includes an internship at Clyde Co in London, where Susana assisted with loan transactions, drafted agreements for ship sales, and conducted legal research. Susana holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Trade, Transport and Maritime Law from London Metropolitan University and multiple qualifications from The Chartered Insurance Institute, including a Diploma in Insurance and ongoing studies in insurance markets. Susana earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Universidad de San Buenaventura.
