Matt Harken

Matt Harken is an experienced instructor and sprinkler fitter with a diverse background spanning multiple roles in construction and management. Currently an Instructor at Sprinkler Fitters Local 483, Matt teaches Union Apprentices and Journeymen, having completed the Instructor Training Program in 2022 and serves on the Apprentice Competition Committee. Previously, as a Sprinklerfitter Foreman at Westates Mechanical Corporation, Matt has accumulated several certifications, including ASSE 15010 and OSHA training. Success as an Apprentice Sprinklerfitter is highlighted by numerous competitive accolades in 2018. Prior to these roles, Matt held various management positions in operational and recruitment roles, demonstrating strong leadership and training capabilities across different industries, including experience at Wheelhouse Enterprises and a background in customer service at Trader Joe's. Matt is currently pursuing an Associate of Science in Construction Management at Washtenaw Community College.
