Michael Patriarca

Michael Patriarca is currently the Director at Western Alliance Bancorporation. Prior to this, they were with Transworld Systems.

Before that, they were with Promontory Financial Group, LLC from February 2009 to January 2015 as a Managing Director. There, they advised financial institution clients on risk management, governance, compliance and other topics of regulatory focus.

From February 1992 to June 1999, Patriarca was with Wells Fargo as the EVP, General Auditor. Michael headed Internal Audit for the enterprise during that time.

Michael then went on to Visa International from June 1999 to April 2005 as the EVP of Risk Management. Patriarca headed risk management for the global organization during their time there.

Patriarca started their career with OCC and OTS from March 1976 to February 1992. Michael was the Deputy Comptroller for Multinational Banking and OTS Regional Director. Michael started as an Enforcement Attorney and worked their way up to Exec Asst to the Comptroller and eventually head of what is now known as Large Bank Supervision.

Patriarca received their Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Santa Clara University School of Law and their L.L.M. in Administrative Law/Economic Regulation from The George Washington University Law School.
