Sanghwan Park

Sanghwan Park is a seasoned technologist with extensive experience in semiconductor and materials engineering. Currently employed at Western Digital since May 2022, Sanghwan Park specializes in HAMR media development, focusing on thin film design for high-density recording and thermal design. Prior to this role, Sanghwan Park served as Principal Engineer at Samsung Electronics from September 2010 to April 2022, contributing to STT-MRAM HVM, semiconductor integration, and foundry services. Earlier positions include Staff Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed process development, deposition, and MTJ development, as well as a postdoctoral role at Institut d'Electronique Fondamentale, emphasizing nanofabrication and current-driven magnetic domain wall motion. Sanghwan Park holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology and a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science from Hanyang University.
