Liam Magee

Director Of Engagement, Institute For Culture And Society at Western Sydney University

Liam Magee has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Liam started their career in 1999 as a Co-Founder/Technical Director at BiziWorks, where they contributed until 2004. In 2005, Liam joined Common Ground Research Networks as a Technical Consultant, leaving the role in 2009. Liam then worked as a Technical Consultant at The Conversation Media Group from 2013. In 2010, they joined RMIT University as a Research Fellow and continued there until 2014. Later in 2014, Liam moved to Western Sydney University, where they held various positions including Senior Research Fellow, Principal Research Fellow, and currently serves as the Director of Engagement, Institute for Culture and Society.

Liam Magee holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Sociology from RMIT University, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Liam also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy from the University of Melbourne, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, Liam has obtained certifications such as the Spring 2021 MLADS Conference Presenter from Microsoft in 2021, the CSE167x: Computer Graphics certification from edX in 2019, and the Deep Learning Specialization certification from Coursera in 2018.
