Noel Thompson

Noel Thompson, SHRM-SCP, serves as the Human Resources Director at Smurfit Westrock since October 2024, following a role as Sr Manager of HR Programs at WestRock Company from 2019. At WestRock, Noel led HR transformation initiatives, designed and implemented HR programs to enhance employee experience, and managed a team supporting a large paper mill and sawmill. Prior experience includes serving as Human Resources Manager at AdvanSix, where significant strategic HR projects were executed, and experience as Senior Human Resources Generalist overseeing labor relations at Orbital ATK. Noel's career also includes roles focused on continuous improvement at NIBCO and labor relations at Volvo Trucks. Noel holds an MBA from Liberty University and a BBA from Averett University.
