Vanessa Bronsema

Vanessa Bronsema, MS, MPA, CLRP, currently serves as the Human Resources Director at Whatcom Transportation Authority since August 2020, after holding positions as Director and Manager of Human Resources & Labor Relations at the City of Anacortes. With experience as Human Resources Manager for the City of Lynden, Vanessa has developed a comprehensive range of human resource programs focusing on employee relations, recruitment, policy development, compensation, and training. Prior roles include Mediation Case Manager at Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center and graduate studies at the University of Oregon, where Vanessa specialized in Conflict & Dispute Resolution and Public Administration. Additional experience encompasses an Oregon Fellow role with the City of Portland and supervisory responsibilities at Starbucks. Vanessa holds a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Science in Conflict & Dispute Resolution from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor of Arts in Global Humanities & Religions from Western Washington University.
