We have built an exceptional data team over the last four years and are looking for an individual to continue to support and advance the Analytics and Data Science pillar. You will be a key leader in maturing and promoting data practices throughout our organization. You will be directly managing our team of data scientists and analytics engineers as well as leading key strategic data projects in cross-functional collaboration with teams across the organization. As such, you must be someone who can navigate between complex technical topics and strategic problems to work cohesively with many teams at once and deliver business impact.

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead a world-class team of data professionals and foster a constructive and collaborative work space. 
  • Own company-wide metrics and KPIs including the analytics roadmap.  
  • Oversee major initiatives related to business intelligence, experiment & metric design, predictive modeling, and machine learning that enable the use of data-driven decision-making throughout the company.
  • Interface with key partners across Product, Finance, and Growth to interpret results and drive strategic business decisions.
  • Continue to promote and champion self-service data access that empowers everyone in the company to derive their own insights and practice good quantitative decision making on a day-to-day basis. 
  • Continuously advocate for quality over quantity in how the company uses and consumes data to keep the company focused and flexible as it grows. 

Who You Are

As an Analytics Manager, you will be guiding, coaching, and leading a technical team that is building the analytical backbone of our GTM across a platform that millions of hourly employees and managers use to work better together. You will work on everything from developing analytics & data science talent, driving actionable insights to shape sales & marketing programs, designing & guiding product experiments, and developing a robust business intelligence layer for our leadership team. 

Experience and Skills Needed

  • Management experience leading analytics and data science teams that interface with non-technical teams.
  • Expertise in SQL (Presto/Athena flavor preferred but not necessary) and Python 
  • Fluency in ETL processes & tooling (Airflow), data modeling, data visualization, and data integrations with Marketing & CRM tooling
  • Familiarity with AWS or similar computing environments and infrastructure. Comfortable with containerization and containerized workflows (e.g. Docker).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (e.g. Redshift) and experience setting up business intelligence & reporting layers 
  • Strong understanding of experiment design, set up, measurement and execution (e.g. product A/B testing)
  • Strong problem solving skills with demonstrated rigor in analyzing data; proven experience using data to solve critical and complex questions
  • An explorer - someone who loves to think through problems and come up with solutions to those problems; an innovative thinker
  • Life-long learner - always looking for ways to expand their individual toolbox with interests in attending development conferences, additional training on core business systems, etc.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - can communicate complex ideas to audiences from a wide variety of backgrounds and levels of technical expertise
  • A self-starter who can work autonomously, make sound independent decisions, while being able to efficiently manage time and multiple projects simultaneously

What Would Be Awesome To Have

  • Advanced STEM degrees are preferred
  • Prior SaaS working experience and an understanding of SaaS metrics and KPIs.
  • Degree in a quantitative field like statistics, economics, applied math, operations research or engineering.
  • Prior exposure to ETL tools such as Hightouch, DBT, and/or Prefect
  • Deep experience with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, PowerBI) and streaming analytics experience
  • Experience with financial data (e.g. Stripe) that feed revenue ETLs and reporting 
  • Familiarity with experimentation infras (LaunchDarkly, Statsig) and product analytics tooling (Mixpanel)
