Kaneswaran Avili has worked in various roles in the aviation and hospitality industry since 2001. From 2001 to 2005, they served as the Director of Business Development at AirAsia, where they strategized, planned, and implemented various distribution channels in all markets. In 2005, they became the Head of Commercial at Tune Hotel Sdn Bhd, where they developed the overall business case and financial model, conceptualized the business and operational model, and identified suitable technology solutions for distribution, hotel key management system, and online booking portal. In 2006, they became the Chief Operating Officer at Tune Money Sdn Bhd, where they developed the overall business case and financial model, conceptualized the business and operational model, and identified regulatory approval requirements and submitted license applications. From 2008 to 2011, they worked as the Director of Commercial at VIVA Macau Airlines and as a Commercial Advisor at Garuda Indonesia Citilink. In 2012, they became the Director of Commercial at Tiger Airways, where they re-branded the company, expanded distribution partnerships in all key markets, and implemented GDS participations with Travelport, Amadeus, and Hahnair. In 2014, they became the Chief Commercial Officer at Spicejet Limited, where they achieved double digit YOY Pax RASK growth, double digit YOY ancillary RASK growth, and the highest load factor in the industry. In 2015, they co-founded Hotel NIDA, a team of hotel management experts that take independent boutique hotels under the Hotel NIDA brand and further enhance it with essential features to provide guests with seamless experience, along with enhanced flexibility and low prices. Finally, in 2016, they became the Chief Product Officer & Sales at WHIP Mobility, a plug & play digital platform for the automotive industry to win, retain, and grow their customer base effectively via a private label mobile app supported by Sales Management app, Service Management App, and administrative platform for front office, call centre, and marketing.
Kaneswaran Avili attended Methodist High School, Ipoh. Perak from 1989 to 1991, where they earned their STPM (Secondary) degree.
