Rakesh Mathur

Rakesh Mathur has a diverse and extensive work experience. Rakesh started their career in 1999 as the Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Stratify, Inc., a company specializing in eDiscovery services. In 2010, they founded Snapstick, a technology company that was later acquired by TIVO.

In 2012, Rakesh founded Droptalk, a communication platform, and JustChalo, a mobile payment platform for restaurants. Droptalk was active until 2014, while JustChalo was acquired by Open Table in 2013.

From 2014 to 2017, Rakesh served as the CEO of Flywheel Software, a ride-hailing app and fleet management service. During this time, they secured $50 million in venture capital for the company before its acquisition.

In 2014, Rakesh also became a Series A Investor in H2O.ai, a company focused on democratizing AI. Additionally, they co-founded Gupshup in 2004, a conversational messaging platform that has delivered billions of messages.

In 2017, Rakesh co-founded and became a seed investor in both Whiterabbit.ai, a healthcare AI startup dedicated to early cancer detection, and percipient.ai, an advanced analytics firm specializing in artificial intelligence for intelligence and national security missions.

Currently, Rakesh is the Chief Executive Officer of Fizz, a platform that has become popular among Stanford undergraduates since its launch in late 2021. Fizz serves as a one-stop shop for campus life and a platform for open discussions.

Throughout their career, Rakesh Mathur has demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for technology and innovation.

Rakesh Mathur pursued their undergraduate studies from 1973 to 1978 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where they completed their B. Tech degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled at The University of Texas at Arlington from 1978 to 1980, where they obtained their MS degree in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research.
