Bob Koopman is an accomplished academic and economist with extensive experience in international trade and policy. Currently serving as the Hurst Senior Professorial Lecturer at the American University School of International Service since July 2022, Bob also works as a Research Fellow in the International Trade and Regional Programme at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. Previous roles include Associate Professor at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies and a significant tenure as Chief Economist and Director of the Economic Research and Statistics Division at the World Trade Organization. From 1999 to 2014, Bob held the position of Director of Operations at the United States International Trade Commission, where oversight included various critical programmatic activities and serving as Chief Operating Officer. Bob Koopman holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Boston College and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Southern Maine. Additionally, Bob is a volunteer National Ski Patroller at Whitetail Ski Resort since September 2022.
