Darlene Wilson

Darlene Wilson is currently the Controller at Whitman College. Prior to their current position, Darlene served as the Club Director for the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham and the Treasurer for the Board of Directors for Alabama Women in Business.

Darlene has always been passionate about civic engagement and giving back to their community. As Club Director for the Kiwanis Club of Birmingham, they were responsible for attracting and retaining the best and brightest members of the community. Under their leadership, the Kiwanis Club became the preeminent civic group in Birmingham.

As Treasurer for the Board of Directors for Alabama Women in Business, Darlene encouraged, supported, and educated women entrepreneurs in diverse sectors. Darlene was instrumental in improving the environment for women entrepreneurs in small and growing businesses. In addition, Darlene helped AWIB members grow personally and professionally by fostering leadership among business women in the community.

Darlene’s passion for civic engagement and their commitment to helping others reach their full potential make their an excellent leader and role model.

Darlene Wilson holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Montevallo. Darlene is also a graduate of Babson College’s National Cohort 10 and Goldman Sachs 10KSB. Ms. Wilson has also completed the Small Business Administration’s Organizational Leadership program at Emerging Leaders. Darlene also holds a certification from the IRS in RTRP.
