Michael Shimkus Pe Se

Michael Shimkus, PE SE, currently serves as a Structural Engineer and Office Manager at WHKS & Co since July 2014, responsible for the inspection, analysis, and design of buildings and bridges, as well as client development. Previously, Michael worked as a Project Engineer at Curry-Wille and Associates, focusing on agricultural structures and structural failures in grain storage facilities. Michael's academic experience includes a role as a Research Assistant and Lecturer at Iowa State University, where work involved finite element analysis and structural analysis instruction. Additionally, Michael owned Ames Custom Contracting, Inc., overseeing custom residential and light commercial construction. Educational credentials include a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) from Iowa State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and History from the University of Northern Iowa.
