Rani Newman Mathura

Rani Newman Mathura is a Partner in the firm’s Palm Beach office, where she focuses her practice on estate planning, estate and trust administration, and charitable planning. Her practice includes fiduciary and trustee representation, business succession planning and residential real estate, in addition to representing guardians and conservators. She frequently speaks on estate and tax planning topics to attorney and community audiences.

Rani is actively involved with the Place of Hope where she serves as Planned Giving Council member, volunteers on multiple committees, and was given the 2nd Annual Hero of Hope Award and Business Leadership Award. Rani serves on the Planned Advisory Council for the Jupiter Medical Center and Philanthropic Advisory Council for the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties. Rani is a member of the Junior League of Greenwich. Rani is a past chair of the board of directors of Audubon Greenwich. Rani was recognized by the Connecticut Law Tribune in 2002 as a New Leaders of the Law and in the same year, won the Advocacy of the Law Award. In 2002, the State of Connecticut, Governor John G. Rowland named June 14, 2002 “Rani Newman Mathura Day” for her work coordinating the ABA/FEMA hotline for victims of the September 11th disaster. Rani received the Town of Greenwich, Connecticut, Probate Court Pro Bono Award in 2003, the American Bar Association, Star of the Year Award in 2006, and the Fairfield County Business Journal, “40 Under 40” Award in 2007.

Prior to joining Wiggin and Dana, Rani formed Newman Mathura Law PLLC and served as Principal in Cummings & Lockwood LLC, where she most recently managed their Palm Beach Gardens office and was the probate staff attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in Palm Beach, Florida.

Rani earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from University of Michigan, her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and her LL.M. in Estate Planning from University of Miami School of Law.
