Ban Dong

Scientist II at Wildcat Discovery Technologies

Ban Dong has been working in the scientific and research fields since 2008. Ban began their career as a Researcher in the Martin Vacha Group at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. In 2012, they moved to the University of Michigan, where they served as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Peter Green Group and a Graduate Student Instructor. In 2017, they joined the University of Chicago as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they studied structure-properties of functional polymers and liquid crystals. In 2019, they became a Senior Manager at Samsung Display Vietnam Co., Ltd. In 2020, they started working as a Lead Materials Research Scientist at Earable, where they led the development of soft conducting materials for interfacing between human skin and electronic for sleep monitoring wearable devices. In 2022, they joined Wildcat Discovery Technologies as a Scientist II.

Ban Dong completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Organic and Polymeric Materials between 2008 and 2012. Ban then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, which they completed in 2017.
