Confiance Mfuka, PhD, has a diverse range of work experience. Confiance is currently serving as the Deputy Program Manager & MEAL Lead at the Wildlife Conservation Society since August 2022. Prior to this, they held the role of Head of Monitoring & Evaluation at the same organization from August 2021 to August 2022.

In 2021, Dr. Mfuka worked as a Professor at UNIVERSITÉ DE L'UÉLÉ starting from April.

From 2020 to 2021, they worked as a Research and Development Project Manager at Groupe Regenord Inc. / AirQTrack.

In 2019, Dr. Mfuka worked as an Independent Geospatial Consultant.

In 2014, they briefly worked as a Visiting Scientist at Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT).

From 2007 to 2010, Dr. Mfuka worked as a GIS Officer and Database Manager at Central Africa Forest Observatory (OFAC), where they built a geospatial database for forest cover extent, change, and biodiversity monitoring in the Central Africa region.

In 2005, they worked as a GIS Consultant at OSFAC.

Confiance Mfuka, PhD, obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kinshasa between 2001 and 2006. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geography at South Dakota State University from 2011 to 2013. Continuing their academic journey, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biological Sciences/Plant Science from South Dakota State University between 2014 and 2019.

In addition to their formal education, Confiance Mfuka has obtained several certifications. In 2015, they completed various courses and received certifications from Esri, including "Building Models for GIS Analysis Using ArcGIS," "Distance Analysis Using ArcGIS," "Network Analysis Using ArcGIS," and "Performing Spatial Interpolation Using ArcGIS." In 2018, they obtained a Remote Pilot certification from the Federal Aviation Administration. Additionally, in 2015, they received a "Certificate of Completion: Going Places with Spatial Analyses" from Esri.
