Sandip B. Bharate

Sandip B. Bharate is currently the Head of the Department of Natural Products & Medicinal Chemistry and a Senior Principal Scientist at CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology since May 2023. Bharate has been affiliated with the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research since April 2011, serving in various academic roles including Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor in Chemical Sciences. Additionally, Bharate holds positions as an Associate Editor and Editorial Board Member for several publications including Drug Development Research and Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. Previous roles include Head of the Natural Products and Medicinal Chemistry Division at CSIR-IIIM and postdoctoral research at the University of Montana, focusing on medicinal chemistry. Bharate's research has emphasized drug discovery, natural products chemistry, and medicinal chemistry, supported by a comprehensive educational background in pharmaceutical sciences, culminating in a PhD from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research.
