John Meyer

John Meyer has extensive experience in journalism and public communications, serving as the Public Image Chair for the Wilmington Rotary Club since July 2010, where responsibilities include managing various communication channels. Their involvement with the Rotary Club dates back to 2003, with a tenure on the Board of Directors from 2013 to 2016, culminating in a role as president. As the owner and editor of Cape Fear Images from January 2001 to September 2023, John provided editing and graphic design services to a diverse clientele. Additionally, John was the owner and editor of Cape Fear Wedding from January 2001 to June 2014, overseeing a comprehensive planning resource for couples. Their prior experience includes serving as Managing Editor and City Editor at Wilmington Star-News from 1982 to 2000, where John led news operations and developed the publication’s first website. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University, earned between 1970 and 1973.
