James A. Wilmot

VP, Gaming Development at Wilmorite

Jimmy joined Wilmorite immediately after graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. He began his career in the student housing business division where he worked with his team to achieve 100% occupancy. His responsibilities quickly expanded in to strategic management and planning, operational coordination, and university relations. Day-to-day duties included: apartment leasing, accounting, customer relationship software integration, and collections. Jimmy's hands-on operational experience and insight will have a positive influence on future development and construction projects as Wilmorite expands its work to other universities across the country.

In his current role as Vice President of Gaming, his responsibilities include: identifying new casino development opportunities and assisting in the oversight of current gaming activity. This position also requires the coordination between Wilmorite and local, state, and federal regulatory agencies as it relates to approvals, compliance, and contracts. Most recently Jimmy helped guide the Lago team in its pre-development and eventual selection as 1 of 3 class three casino licenses in NY state.

Jimmy is one of the co-founders of The Wish List Society at the University of Rochester's Wilmot Cancer Center. The Wish List Society is a group of young professionals who came together to support the Wilmot Cancer Center's Patient Needs Program. The Patient Needs 'wish list' consists of actual items and equipment needed at the cancer center facility. It also includes gift cards and cash items since a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have a devastating effect on a patient's finances.
