Doug Kennedy has a wealth of experience in the field of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). Doug is currently the Director of Environment Health Safety at Wilsonart, a position they have held since September 2020. Prior to this, Doug had a long and successful career at GE, where they held various EHS leadership roles.
At GE, Doug served as the EHS Leader of a Gas Turbine Manufacturing Plant from November 2018 to November 2020. Doug was responsible for overseeing complex EHS programs, including a wastewater treatment plant, title V air permit, and large-scale 3-D printing operations. During their tenure, Doug successfully achieved significant reductions in total recordable incident rates.
Before their role in Gas Turbine Manufacturing, Doug served as the EHS Global Supply Chain Leader for GE Renewable Energy. In this position, they drove EHS programs across multiple wind turbine manufacturing facilities in North America, South America, Europe, and China from November 2017 to November 2018.
Prior to that, Doug was the EHS Leader for Battery Manufacturing at GE, where they played a vital role in the start-up of a new battery manufacturing facility. Doug quickly adapted to the new technology and process and successfully implemented EHS programs during the transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing from November 2015 to November 2017.
Doug also served as the EHS Leader for Wind Turbine Manufacturing at GE from September 2012 to November 2015. Earlier in their career, they led EHS efforts for a Greenfield Start-Up Operation in Transportation Re-Manufacturing. Doug was responsible for hiring over 200 operators and developing all site EHS programs from November 2009 to November 2012.
Furthermore, Doug held the position of EHS Leader at a locomotive repair shop in GE Transportation from November 2007 to November 2009. During this time, they managed a significant PCB remediation project alongside their site EHS responsibilities.
Doug's career began in the Operations Management Leadership Program at GE Aviation from September 2003 to November 2005. Doug later transitioned into the role of EHS Coordinator at GE Aviation from November 2005 to November 2007.
Overall, Doug Kennedy has extensive experience in EHS leadership roles, managing complex programs, implementing EHS initiatives, and driving continuous improvement in the organizations they have worked for.
Doug Kennedy attended the University of Cincinnati from 1998 to 2003, where they obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
