Paloma Rueda Romero

Paloma Rueda Romero is an experienced professional in the field of plant biotechnology and microalgae production, currently serving as a Program Manager at Windfall Bio since February 2024. Previously, Paloma held the position of Associate Director and Head of Plant & Soil Science, as well as Senior Scientist at Andes from November 2021 to September 2023. Prior roles include Scientist III and Project Manager at Zymergen, Inc. from May 2018 to October 2021, and Strain Engineering Scientist at Calysta from 2016 to April 2018. Paloma's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where the dissertation focused on transcriptional regulation during seed germination, and a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Additionally, Paloma co-founded DESARROLLO Y TRANSFERENCIA DE BIOTECNOLOGIA SL, a start-up dedicated to the development of microalgae-based products for biofuels and valuable compounds.
