OJ Slaughter has a varied work experience, having held roles in both the creative and corporate fields. In 2011, they began working as a Freelance Creative Consultant / Multimedia Producer / Creative Director for Liv Slaughter, where they developed strategic communication and marketing plans, established procedures and quality standards for the department, and oversaw full teams of writers, artists, designers and project managers. In 2013, they became a Barista at Starbucks. In 2015, they interned at Together We March. From 2016 to 2017, they held the roles of Creative at Apple, Art Director at Pavement Coffeehouse, and Functions Coordinator and Exhibit Maintenance Intern at the Museum of Science, Boston. In 2020, they became Artist In Residence at Windy Films and Visual Creative Director for Sound On at WBUR. They currently work as Gallery Manager at Leica Camera North America, a role they began in 2022. Additionally, OJ Slaughter has been a student at Lasell College since 2011, where they had a radio show, were a member of the Student Government Association, initiated a campaign against racist Halloween costumes in 2014, and are currently the Art Director and Head Editor of The Lasell College Literary Zine.
OJ Slaughter attended Elmwood Park High School from 2007 to 2011, graduating with a High School degree. OJ then attended Lasell University from 2011 to 2016, graduating with an Arts Management degree in the field of Arts, Entertainment, and Media Management.
