Preston Marshall has had a diverse career in the technology industry. In 2002, they began their career as a Program Manager at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). In this role, they were responsible for a range of wireless, electronic warfare, ground sensors and power source technology developments, including the spectrum sharing technology that eventually led to Federal initiatives. In 2009, they moved to the USC Information Sciences Institute, where they served as the Institute Deputy Director and Director of Computational Systems and Technology. From 2010 to 2013, they worked as a Research Professor in Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California. In 2015, they founded and co-chaired the Spectrum Sharing Committee (CBRS Standards) at the Wireless Innovation Forum. In 2017, they co-founded and became the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the OnGo Alliance (Non-Profit Industry Association). Most recently, they have been the Engineering Director of the Internet Evangelism Team and Wireless Policy and Standards at Google.
Preston Marshall obtained a Master of Science in Information Science from Lehigh University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Electric Engineering from Trinity College Dublin.
