Mark Ward has over 36 years of work experience in aviation. Mark started their career in the U.S. Coast Guard, where they served as a Commander for 21 years. Following their retirement, they joined Sikorsky and held various roles including Chief Pilot, Experimental Test Pilot for Autonomy Research, Instructor Pilot, and Production Test Pilot. Most recently, Mark has been working at Wisk as the Director of Flight Test and Operations.

Mark Ward holds a Master's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University, completed from 2001 to 2003. Mark also obtained a Master's degree in Quality Systems Management from The National Graduate School of Quality Management (NGS) from 2003 to 2004. Mark earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering from Norwich University, which they completed from 1983 to 1987. Additionally, Mark has obtained various certifications, including Part 107 Remote Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2022, Airline Transport Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in 2013, and Test Pilot School Graduate from the National Test Pilot School in 2011. Furthermore, they hold S-70, S-70M, and SK92 Type Ratings, awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
