Niema Golphin

Director of Culture, Fernhill at WISSAHICKON CHARTER SCHOOL

Niema Golphin joined WCS in 2014 as the Fernhill campus Dean of Culture and became Director of Culture for both campuses in 2020. Prior to working at WCS Niema has held many teaching positions including adjunct instructor at Temple University, Life Skills facilitator at Job Corps and physical education teacher at Buxmont Academy. After 7 years in the classroom, Niema decided to self-publish her first book titled Discovering Your Greatness Now a life skills workbook for teens. This opened the door for many speaking engagements at schools and Universities across the tri-state area. As Niema continues to balance her publishing company, working full-time and becoming a mom she started to practice mindfulness meditation to help her with the stress of juggling and staying engaged and on top of all her responsibilities. Niema grew a passion for meditation and now as a certified meditation coach she is now influencing other education professionals not only to implement meditation in their personal life but into their schools as classrooms as well to manage their stress and to equip students with tools to develop emotional regulation. As Niema continues her career in education she hopes to inspire people globally to use meditation to help with life’s stressor and to enjoy the stillness that allows them to reset and focus on what makes them happy. She is also committed to making sure the students are not only safe but reaching responsible independence while achieving academic success.
