Mathieu Van Assche

Mathieu Van Assche has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Mathieu most recently co-founded and served as CFO of Abode since April 2023. Prior to that, they were an investor at Flummox starting from March 2022. Mathieu also co-founded Yolioo in January 2021. Mathieu had a brief entrepreneurial experience as part of Antler from February 2023 to April 2023. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Chief of Staff at Uncapped from January 2022 to February 2023. Before that, Mathieu held the position of Head of Strategic Finance at Plum Fintech from November 2020 to January 2022. Mathieu gained experience in the finance industry as a Strategic Finance Analyst at Checkout.com from February 2019 to November 2020. Mathieu's previous roles include working as a Corporate Finance and Venture Capital Analyst at Rocket Internet SE in 2018 and an Off-Cycle Investment Banking Analyst at Rothschild & Co from January 2018 to July 2018. Mathieu started their professional career as a Private Equity Intern at Down 2 Earth Capital from September 2017 to December 2017.

In 2014, Mathieu attended The Wharton School, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. From 2012 to 2015, they were enrolled at KU Leuven and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics with Cum Laude honors.

Before their university studies, Mathieu attended Virga Jessecollege from 2006 to 2012, where they received their ASO diploma with a specialization in Science and Mathematics.

In addition to their formal education, Mathieu has obtained certifications. In February 2019, they completed the Financial Modeling for Startups course from Udemy. In August 2012, they obtained the EFCELT Language Certificate at C2 Level from EF Education First.
