Katie Gray has held various roles in the software engineering field, beginning with their current role as a Software Engineer at Joy since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer, Developer Programs at Dolby.io from 2020 to 2021, where they developed demo applications using React, JavaScript, HTML and CSS to increase developer adoption of Dolby.io Communication APIs, built customized developer documentation experience, planned and implemented custom search and filtering functionality using Algolia API, developed internal tools and infrastructure using Node.js and Amazon Web Services (AWS), wrote a blog demonstrating how to build an authentication server using AWS, and lead the Dolby Indigenous Employee group. From 2019 to 2020, they were a Software Engineer at LaneOne, and a Software Engineer Intern at The Relish Media Group in 2019. Before their career in software engineering, Katie Gray was a Music Teacher at Adda Clevenger School from 2015 to 2014, and an AmeriCorps Member at City Year from 2014 to 2015, where they tutored and mentored students off track in attendance, behavior, and coursework in an urban school, provided whole class academic support, created and led a 10 week unit plan informed by Common Core standards, and organized an attendance coaching program.
Katie Gray obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Music Teacher Education from Ithaca College in 2014. In 2017, they obtained their Massachusetts Initial License- Music Vocal/Instrumental/General PreK-12 from the Massachusetts Department of Education in October, as well as their CPR First Aid Certification in August. In 2018-2019, they attended Rithm School and completed a 16 Week Full Stack Software Engineer Bootcamp in Computer Software Engineering.
