Maurice Hickman

Maurice Hickman has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and roles. Maurice is the Founder of Pathfinder Maven, an advisory and consulting firm that supports investors, SMEs, and tech startup founders with market entry, strategy, organizational growth, operations, and expansion in Sub-Saharan Africa. Maurice also serves as an Advisor at Antler, a company that focuses on helping startups.

Additionally, Maurice has held leadership positions in companies such as VALR, where they worked as the Director of Business Operations, and Alistair Group, where they served as the Head of Operations (Group). Maurice was also the Head of Expansion - Africa at Lori Systems, a tech-enabled logistics optimization platform connecting cargo owners and transporters across Africa. During their time at Lori, they led the expansion in Uganda, overseeing all P&L management, commercial and operational growth, and played a significant role in the development of internal and external tech applications.

Before transitioning to the private sector, Maurice had a career in the military. Maurice served as a Company Fire Support Officer and a Platoon Leader and Fire Direction Officer in the US Army. During their military service, they received multiple awards and honors for their exceptional leadership, including the Bronze Star Medal.

Maurice Hickman's education history includes a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Maurice also obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Duke University's The Fuqua School of Business. Additionally, Maurice Hickman earned a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from Georgetown University.
