Eric Engelhard

Eric Engelhard has over 19 years of experience in the gaming industry. Eric is currently working as a Senior Game Designer at Wizards of the Coast, where they focus on Set Design for Magic the Gathering since September 2021. Prior to this role, from November 2020 to August 2021, Eric worked as a Senior Game Designer in Competitive Play Design for the same company.

Before joining Wizards of the Coast, Eric worked at WizKids, Inc. from July 2008 to April 2020. During their time there, they served as the Lead Game Designer for HeroClix. Eric designed over 3,000 game pieces and worked on various media properties including Marvel, DC, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek, among others. Eric also created custom collations for multiple miniatures, card, and dice games.

Eric's career began at Kenzer & Company in September 2002, where they worked as an RPG Editor/Developer and Organized Play Manager. Eric wrote and edited numerous products compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 and 3.5.

From May 2004 to May 2007, Eric also worked as a Manager at G-Mart Comics.

Eric Engelhard earned a High School Diploma from the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy in 1996. Eric then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree with three majors (Astronomy, Engineering Physics, Math) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2000. Eric continued their education at the same university and received a Master of Science degree in Astrophysics in 2002.
