Marc Wilhelm

Marc Wilhelm has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. Marc currently serves as the Design Manager at Wizards of the Coast since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Design Manager - All Studios at Iron Galaxy Studios from June 2021 to September 2022. From August 2020 to March 2021, they held the role of Design Director at Deck Nine Games. Marc also worked at Hidden Monster Games as part of the Design and Production team from April 2017 to September 2018.

Before their tenure at Hidden Monster Games, Marc held the position of Lead Designer at Big Fish Games from May 2016 to February 2017. Marc worked on F2P (Free-to-Play) Mobile Games, focusing on collaborative design, player feedback, and feature development.

Marc's work experience also includes teaching roles at Champlain College, where they served as an Assistant Professor of Game Design and Production from December 2012 to May 2016. Marc was responsible for developing and instructing game development courses and mentoring students. Additionally, they worked as an Independent Game Developer from July 2009 to December 2012, where they engaged in freelance and indie game development, community building, and event organization.

Earlier in their career, Marc worked at Activision as a Sr Game Design Manager and at Jam City as a Creative Director. Marc also had experience as a Lead Game Designer at Arcadia Entertainment, Inc., where they worked on game design, UI design, and game prototyping for a virtual world platform.

Marc Wilhelm attended Front Range Community College from 1993 to 1995, where they obtained an Associate of Arts (AA) degree with a field of study in General/Philosophy. Following that, they enrolled at The Art Institutes from 1998 to 2001, and earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Digital Media Design. In 1996, Marc obtained a certification as a Mixologist from the Colorado Bartending Academy.
