Jim Burden

Jim Burden has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Jim started their career in 1997 as a Network Security Engineer at International Network Services, where they designed and consulted on internet connectivity and performed security assessments.

In 1998, Jim joined California ISO as a Senior Security Engineer & Architect, where they were responsible for the security design and implementation of tactical projects. Jim was also a key member of the team that developed a PKI solution for protecting CAISO applications.

From 2000 to 2001, Jim worked as the Director of Network Security Architecture at NetReliance, where they were responsible for the design and management of an operational data center providing outsourced secure identity management services.

In 2001, Jim co-founded CyberKnight Security, where they were responsible for sales, consulting, and developing firewall policies from scratch.

From 2002 to 2003, Jim worked as a Senior Network Security Engineer and Architect at System Integration Management, Inc. Here, they performed research and development and assisted in the testing and upgrading of Gauntlet firewalls.

From 2003 to 2014, Jim worked at Secure Mission Solutions, where they held the role of Senior Network Security Engineer. Jim provided 24/7 support for the Military Health System Cyberinfrastructure Services and applied security policies and incident response for internal and external customers.

In 2014, Jim joined Fruit of the Loom, Inc. as a Senior Security Data Engineer. Jim built and managed a team responsible for cyber security management, vulnerability assessments, and threat intelligence.

From 2019 to 2020, Jim worked as an Information Security Engineer at Dollar General, where they focused on information security and implemented security enhancements.

From 2020 to 2023, Jim worked at White Bishop Group as a Cyber Security Expert and Entrepreneur.

Currently, Jim is working as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at WizNucleus, Inc. where they are responsible for cybersecurity activities.

Jim Burden attended the University of Maryland, Europe from 1996 to 1997, where they studied Computer Science but did not obtain a degree. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1987, they attended ITT Technical Institute-Arlington, studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering but also did not complete a degree.
