Ioana Margareta Ion

Ioana Margareta Ion has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ioana Margareta started their career in 2009 at CGS (Computer Generated Solutions) as a Senior Team Lead, managing a team of customer service representatives and consistently achieving outstanding results. Ioana Margareta then moved on to Hostway UK Ltd as an Enterprise Account Manager from 2013 to 2015.

In 2015, Ioana joined Bigstep where they held multiple roles including Channel & Alliances Coordinator, Partner & Channel Manager, and ultimately Sales Director. At Bigstep, they played a pivotal role in enabling organizations to build robust and cost-effective data pipelines.

In 2018, Ioana took on the role of Regional Partner Manager at MapR Technologies, where they significantly increased the volume of partner sourced opportunities, contributing to the company's success in the data platform industry.

Ioana Margareta also founded Women In Big Data in 2018 and served as the Chapter Lead in London and a member of the EMEA Core Leadership Team. Through this organization, Ioana has been actively championing the success of women in the data space.

In 2019, Ioana joined Snowflake as a Partner Manager for UK, Ireland & Israel, responsible for the Service Partners channel business. Over the course of their tenure at Snowflake, they grew the UK&I Service Partner ecosystem from 50 to 300+ partners. Additionally, they received three consecutive global awards for their exceptional results.

In 2023, Ioana is set to take on the role of Regional Cloud Lead, Northern Europe - Microsoft at Snowflake, showcasing their continuous commitment to professional growth and excellence in the technology industry.

Ioana Margareta Ion attended Universitatea Româno-Americană din București from 2007 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Marketing Management, General. In addition to their degree, they also obtained several certifications. In September 2009, they obtained the Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) certification from the University of Cambridge. Later, in January 2018, they completed a certification course called "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" from Coursera. Ioana Margareta also completed a course on R Programming from Coursera in March 2018.
