Matthew Boyda

Matthew Boyda has a strong background in the energy industry, having worked in various roles at different companies. Matthew currently serves as the SVP Global P&R Research at Wood Mackenzie, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the VP Power Solutions at Wood Mackenzie from 2020 to 2023. Before joining Wood Mackenzie, Boyda worked at Genscape, Inc. as the CongestionIQ Product Manager from 2013 to 2020. Matthew was responsible for designing and leading the creation of a SaaS platform and managing a development team. Boyda also co-founded Energytics in 2011, where they served as the CTO and played a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining core IP for energy trading portfolios. Earlier in their career, Boyda worked at ERCOT as a Data Architect / Team Lead from 2007 to 2010 and at EPCOR as an IT Architect / Team Lead from 2001 to 2007. In these positions, they gained valuable experience in data integration, project implementation, and team leadership.

Matthew Boyda earned a degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Computer Systems from NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 1998 to 2001. Later, they pursued a program in Supervisory Development at the University of Alberta from 2005 to 2006, focusing on Business.
