Rachna Mehta has a diverse work experience in the field of economics and analysis. Rachna currently holds the position of Principal Analyst at Wood Mackenzie, starting in 2022. Prior to this, Rachna worked at ArcelorMittal from 2013 to 2018, where they served as the Principal Economist for Corporate Strategy. In this role, they led economic initiatives and processes, provided short and medium-term steel demand forecasts, and delivered important insights into the financial, political, and social impacts on the steel industry. Before joining ArcelorMittal, Rachna worked at The Economist Intelligence Unit (The EIU) as an Economist from 2008 to 2012, focusing on product development and custom research. Rachna also held the position of Deputy Economist at the Economist Intelligence Unit, The Economist Group from 2006 to 2008. Rachna started their career as an Assistant Economist at the European Union Directorate, Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2002 to 2003, where they conducted in-depth economic and statistical analysis, provided economic support to senior ministers, and responded to requests for country or industry-specific statistics and forecasts.

Rachna Mehta completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Economics at the University of Surrey from 2000 to 2004. Rachna then pursued a Master of Science degree in Economics at the University of Nottingham from 2004 to 2005.
